As we step into a new month, we’re excited to share the latest from our studio—projects in the works, ideas on the horizon, and collaborations that continue to push creative boundaries. At ABG Art Group, we’re committed to bringing art into public spaces, supporting visionary artists, and curating experiences that inspire. In this edition, we’ll highlight recent installations, upcoming opportunities, and ways you can engage with our work. Whether you’re an artist, collector, or art enthusiast, we invite you to be part of the journey. Thank you for being part of our creative community!

Let’s dive in!

HERE ARE SOME THINGS WE DID

9th Avenue Interior Project Led by Johara Owens

We’re excited to share the 9th Avenue Project, a stunning interior artwork initiative led by Johara Owens, who has joined ABG Art Group as an extension of our team, specializing in interior artwork projects. This collaboration highlights the intersection of art and architecture, demonstrating how thoughtfully curated artwork can transform spaces and create an inspiring atmosphere.

For this project, over 20 unique art pieces were licensed from an incredible lineup of artists, including Will Brown, Lorrie Fink, Steve Javiel, Carolynn Haydu, Fernanda Martinez, and Kalani Ware. These works were carefully selected and produced in various sizes to complement different areas within the building, from common spaces to private offices and lounges. The result is a cohesive, visually engaging environment where art enhances both aesthetics and ambiance.

Bringing "Off The Wall" to Life at the Sunnydale Hub

Another Off The Wall concept has come to life at the Sunnydale Hub, transforming cultural textures and iconic imagery of Sunnydale into a stunning visual statement. This project is a testament to the power of collaboration, craftsmanship, and community storytelling through public art.

From Concept to Completion

The journey of this piece began as a vision to honor the identity of Sunnydale. The design process moved through multiple phases—starting with conceptual sketches, refining the artwork through digital painting, and finally creating a detailed vector design for fabrication.

The final design was then extruded, cut, etched, and layered to create depth and texture. Once machine-cut, the individual pieces were hand-painted with precision before being installed on the existing building wall, seamlessly integrating art with architecture.

The Team Behind the Project

This project was made possible through the expertise and dedication of a talented team:

  • Client: #MercyHousing

  • Project Lead: 🙏 Tommy! [@civicdesignstudio510]

  • Lead Artist: 🎨 [@tsui.xiaorui]

  • Vector Artist: 🖥️ [@trentsideas]

  • Photography: 📸 [@colorsbydom]

  • Fabrication: 🔪 Greg Gemin

  • Install & Paint Assist: @beniblanco14 @loukalnns

This project not only brings visual beauty to the Sunnydale Hub but also reinforces the importance of cultural representation in public spaces. Stop by and experience this incredible piece for yourself!

A Collaboration with Gents at Good Mother Gallery

ABG Art Group, in collaboration with Good Mother, recently transformed a long-vacant building in downtown Oakland into a vibrant canvas for local artistry. The mural project at 468 Thomas L. Berkley Way—formerly an old dentist’s office—was made possible through a partnership with Holland Partner Group and Lakeside Group LLC, revitalizing a space that had stood empty for years.

By showcasing the work of Oakland-based artists, this large-scale mural not only breathes new life into the building but also enhances the surrounding area with color, creativity, and community pride. This project is a testament to the power of public art in reshaping urban landscapes and uplifting local talent.

We’re proud to have been part of this transformation and look forward to more collaborations that celebrate Oakland’s artistic spirit!
