MICRO EVENT FUND 3/21/2024
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CITY OF EMERYVILLE DUE April 15 

Introduction

ABG has funding for arts and culture events in Emeryville over the next 24 months as part of the Rotten City Cultural District Initiative. 

 

Our goal is to engage local creatives and residents. We believe involving creatives early on will shape events best.

 

We'll co-sign and produce 12 of your ideas. If selected, you'll receive start to finish production support from the ABG/RCCD team and $24,000 in total funding, $2,000 in funding per grant. We'll pick 6 partners for 2024 on May 1st. Apply by April 15. Interviews with finalists will be scheduled in between. If not selected, you can still be considered for 2025.

Community Promotion and Visual Arts Grants

Context

The Community Promotions Grant Program expands public access to literary, video and film, culinary, historic, and performing arts and events in our community and the Visual Arts Grant Program offers opportunities for new installations from murals and mosaics to street mandalas and shade structures designed by an artist or an installation yet to be conceived of, by supporting the work of the individual artist or organizations.

Important Info

The pre-application Seminar event is scheduled for Feb 8, 2024 at 10AM at the City Council Chamber at 1333 Park Avenue, Emeryville, CA.  A guided workshop led by ABG Art Group will be held on Feb 13, 2024 from 5pm-7pm, location information to be announced shortly. 
 
The City of Emeryville encourages these organizations or individuals to apply for Community Promotions grants up to $10,000 and Visual Arts Grants of up to $17,500. 

Oakland Public Art Workshop

Free Workshops

The City of Oaklands Cultural Affairs Division and Cultural Strategist in Government Program for public art are excited to announce a series of free, informational workshops. Our mission is to educate Oakland based artists on the process of applying for and creating public art. Making city funded art projects more equitable and available to all Oakland artists. Artists that complete the full workshop series will be added into Oaklands pre-qualified pool of artist!

are committed to the full workshop series.
All Oakland based artists are welcome to attend, especially

artists from underserved communities.

Following workshop sessions will be monthly or bi-monthly, will run 90 min each, with guest speakers and professional support. Workshops will run through May 2023

San Leandro Utility Boxes

San Leandro Utility Box Art Program 

This project is a public-private partnership between the City of San Leandro and ABG Art Group to provide

placement of art on traffic control boxes within the streets of San Leandro. 

Eligibility

Any artist from Alameda County, with strong

preference given to San Leandro-based artists.

Location 

ABG Art Group is working on implementing a project

to place art on several utility boxes in the City of San

Leandro

Project Timeline

Please note this is a call for portfolios. Portfolios will be used to select artists for commission. If you are commissioned to design a box, a new timeline will be circulated relating to the approval and installment process.

  • Portfolios Accepted (via email) through January 15, 2023

  • If you are selected as an artist for this project you will be notified within 4 weeks of your submission.

  • Acceptance into the Portfolio does not guarantee a commission.
